Importance of pagerank

If are attempting to monetize your blog, increasing your google pagerank is a must. For instance, I use payperpost for a vast majority of my monetizing options. With their new structure, the opportunities that I have, with a pagerank of 0, are very limited. The solution to this is to get as many incoming links to my site as I can get. Those incoming links are harder to achieve than I once thought. I just have to keep telling myself that patience is the key to creating a successful monetized blogging endeavor. Blogging is like a drug

With a show of hands, how many people out there think they could get addicted to blogging? 1. . . 2 . . . 3. . . Well, there are quite a few of you out there. Yes, I had my hand up too. I started this blog 1 1/2 years ago and kept it simple with some personal posts. My posting volume slowly decreased over time. Well, about 6 weeks ago, I got the blogging bug again. In those 6 weeks, I have been rapidly posting on this site, plus I've added 4 other blogs, each with their own topic. It's been fun and I hope to stay excited about it.

Pre-occupied

You may notice the number of posts in this blog slowly decrease in volume. I have been spending a majority of my time on my new blogs. I am searching for themes that appear to fit the tone I want each particular blog to take. The one blog that I still haven't decided on a theme for is my sports blog. If anyone knows of a nice (free) sports related wordpress theme, please let me know.

Major Announcement

I have a major announcement. I finally broke down and bought my own domain. I am in the process of migrating my blogs off of blogspot and over to the new domain, blisslogs. I will continue to use this blog for sponsored posts as my new blogs won't qualify for 90 days. While we're on the topic of a new domain, I would like to offer a free blog to any of my readers. I will provide the sub-domain (yourdomain.blisslogs.com) and the wordpress blog software.

One of the things I want to turn this blog into is a site that helps bloggers share their information. That will range from providing success stories of my endeavors to cool tools and widgets I find. A cool new widget just popped up on my radar. The box.net widget is a flash player that streams podcasts, music, photos, videos, and any other type of file. It's been almost 1 month since I found payperpost.com so I thought this would be a good time to mention the success I've experienced. If you're not familiar with their service, I'll sum up for you.

Payperpost will give you a wide variety of topics to blog about. They have a new segmentation system which awards bloggers with higher site traffic. If your blog is popular enough, you have the opportunity to make up to $1000 for one post. On the other hand, if your blog doesn't have the traffic yet, you still have the opportunity to make some money via payperpost. The reason I haven't been paid any yet is because that payperpost requires your post to remain on your site for 30 days before they pay you. They also require that your blog disclose that you receive monetary payment for some of your posts. You can read my full disclosure at the bottom of this page. Also notice that you have the option of sending some of your earnings to charity; currently to either the Red Cross or for the habitat for humanity.

This segmentation that they began a couple weeks ago really motivates us bloggers to promote our site and generate traffic to our sites in order to qualify for those opportunities that offer the big money. But remember, payperpost is the perfect opportunity for high traffic and lower traffic bloggers alike.

Monetized blogging rules

I've seen the professional bloggers make their posts giving us the top 10 lists like 10 blogging mistakes to avoid, 10 techniques for finding blog readers, Blog Rules, Dave's 9 rules for blogging. This is all good info for your blog, however; you need to keep yourself in your blog. Once you start blogging about something you can't really back, is the moment your blog begins to fail. If you want a successful blog, there are two rules that always hold true:

1. Blog about something that interests you.
2. keep the content coming.

Looking back at all of my posts, I realize that I have made many mistakes along the way. I have found a topic to blog about and rush the content out. The result is not conveying my thought as clearly as I had hoped. I need to learn how to slow down and make my content useful to the readers.

One of my excuses is a lack of writing experience. It has been over 12 years since I've taken a writing course in college. I do feel I'm getting better. Not that my writing is getting better, but I now recognize my mistakes.

Prince wardrobe malfunction?

Prince's super bowl halftime show is getting a lot of attention from bloggers for a supposed wardrobe malfunction. During his guitar solo of "Purple Rain", his shadow was projected on a huge fabric. While watching his halftime performance, I remember thinking that the shadow of his custom guitar had a slight phallic look to it, based on the unfortunate placement of the guitar with his overall shadow. Now that this is getting so much publicity from bloggers around the world, I thought I would provide my 2 cents.

I don't think this was intentional. Get over it everyone!

New Blog and reformatting of this blog

Announcement: I have created a new blog titled Bliss99Marketing. Be sure to visit it often. That site will be the new site of my marketing offers and findings from my experiences on the web. It is sure to offer great new sites and offers to save you money. As I just created the site today, don't expect anything great yet. Check it out in the days and weeks to come and let me know what you think.

This site will be transformed into posting interesting news items that I find and feel I want to comment on. I will also use this site to document the many ways I have found to monetize your blog. New Blog Topic / Theme

OK everyone, I'm considering the creation of a new blog. I want some feedback as to what you would be interested in reading in a blog. Do you want a series of funny stories/videos? Do you want a blog about business? A technology blog? A blog that posts all the neat websites, tools, and widgets I find on the web? I've found quite a few lately. What are your ideas? I'm open to anything (except porn or overly offensive material)! I want a topic to get excited about and give you a steady read of topics that interest all you fellow bloggers.

The reason for this request for topics is that I have seen many ways to make money off of your blog as of late, but the key to making it profitable is lots of web traffic. That's why I need topics of interest, I want to get a large base of regular users. Also, if you have a blog, please post a link back to http://bliss99.blogspot.com as I am trying to improve this sites Google PageRank, which currently stands at a PR of 0/10, which isn't too good.

So get your thinking cap on and give my your ideas; no matter how strange you may think it is.

Nice tool for bloggers

I just discovered this site that provides some really cool tools for your blog. Check out my technorati section to the right of my blog to see the little widget I've already added. There are many more customization you can choose from on their site. Go check it out. I've got it bookmarked and will re-visit when I have more time to make some improvements to my blog.

Paid for blogging

I just came across this site that will pay you to do what you do anyway. Payperpost looks like a pretty decent deal. I just registered my blog on their site. It looks like it will take a couple days for them to decide if I am accepted. I look forward to seeing what opportunities they present me to blog about. It looks like the payouts average about $5 per post and they make their payments via paypal.
