Why Rex Grossman is like President Bush

As soon as I saw Rex Grossman's interview following the SuperBowl, I immediately started thinking of the comparisons between him and President Bush. Think about it:

President Bush: "Tricked" America into thinking that we need to invade Iraq because they had a hand in 9/11.

Rex Grossman: "Tricked" the Bears front office into putting a clause in his contract that gave him a bonus if the Bears made it to the SuperBowl. Now, it is widely viewed that they made it there in spite of his performances.

President Bush: Won't admit that the Iraqi insurgents are besting the US led Military efforts in Iraq.

Rex Grossman: "We didn't make the plays to win it." "We know we're a great team, at this point all you can do is get better" (note to Rex: Why not just say you got outplayed like Urlacher did?)

President Bush: We need to stay the course in Iraq. If we lose, the consequences will be dire.

Rex Grossman: I'll just keep heaving the ball down the field in this heavy rain the same way I did all season. I don't care if the ball is wet and I can't get the same grip on the ball. It doesn't matter that I fumbled one snap early in the game, I don't need to change the way I approach the center to QB exchange because of the wet weather, even if I fumble again later in the game.
