Rahman's Promise
Sponsored:
Hassim Rahman rocketed to fame with a stunning knock out of then Heavy Weight boxing champion Mike Tyson long ago. It was a memorable act on his part. Now he is doing it again. This time, he is trying to do the right thing under some unfortunate circumstances. His brother robbed a convenience store, then stole a car to flee police. Karim Rahman proceded his reckless ways and struck a motorcycle driven by a Baltimore police detective with his wife sitting behind him. Karim Rahman did not contest the lawsuit filed by the detective's personal injury lawyers.
This where Hassim comes in. You see, his brother is broke and unable to pay one dime to the settlement. Hassim has promised to "donate a percentage of the rest of my career for (the Honakers) family to offset some of the financial burden to the family." Now some people will claim this is the right thing to do, while others will question why he is doing it. I am impressed how this former champion is stepping up and taking on some responsibility for his family's actions.
